Gość Instytutu Konfucjusza w Krakowie, profesor Helwig Schmidt-Glintzer wygłosi wykład „Cultural Difference, Modernity and the Envisioning of a Third Axial Age Some Remarks on he er bu tong 和而不同”.
Profesor Schmidt-Glintzer jest wybitnym sinologiem, specjalistą z dziedziny historii Chin, szczególnie z zakresu historii intelektualnej i kulturalnej tego kraju. Obecnie jest dyrektorem China Centrum Tübingen.
W trakcie wykładu będzie omawiać trzeci „czas osiowy” (określany w polskiej literaturze również jako „okres przełomu) oraz rolę, jaką mogą w nim odegrać intelektualne tradycje Chin.

Professor Helwig Schmidt-Glintzer, a guest of the Confucius Institute in Krakow, will deliver a lecture “Cultural Difference, Modernity and the Envisioning of a Third Axial Age Some Remarks on he er bu tong 和而不同”.
Professor Schmidt-Glintzer is a distinguished scholar in the field of Sinology and the history of China with a special focus on intellectual and cultural history and Chinese literature. During the lecture he will discuss the Third Axial Age, defined as a “mental Axial Age”, and the role that could be played in it by Chinese intellectual traditions.
