Date: 23.05.2023
Start Time: 13:15
Place: WSMiP, ul. Reymonta 4, room 016
Organiser: Centre for International Studies and Development; Institute of Russian and East European Studies

Professor Andréa Stanislav will present a talk on her art practice, and current research project - Over the Border. The project focuses on the preservation of audio and visual memories of Ukrainian refugees, reflecting on love, loss, and diverse meanings of home — via audio interviews, and mobile device archives. Stanislav’s hybrid creative research practice spans sculpture, multimedia installation, public art, and performance. Her work often questions how histories re-contextualize in the present — focusing on themes of genocide, migration, space exploration, and utopian/dystopian constructs. Andréa is currently a Research Exchange Faculty with the International and Political Studies program at Jagiellonian University, and the Russian and Eastern European Institute (REEI), Indiana University - Bloomington, USA.

* There is an accompanying photo exhibition of Andréa Stanislav’s video still collages on view in first floor lobby.
