On 6th April 2017, the Kraków University of Economics hosted the first final of Oxford Debates organized by the European Commission Representation in Poland as part of the project Team Europe & the art of debate. The premise of the debate was: Brexit is a good chance to strengthen the position of the European Union.
On 6th April 2017, the Kraków University of Economics hosted the first final of Oxford Debates organized by the European Commission Representation in Poland as part of the project Team Europe & the art of debate. The premise of the debate was: Brexit is a good chance to strengthen the position of the European Union. Two teams made up of the students of Kraków universities competed in the debate. The team that defended the premise included: Anna Moskal, Katarzyna Waszkiewicz, Jan Kłapa and Karolina Sęk, and prof. dr hab. Janusz Węc, the head of the JMC EUCRIS project and the expert of Team Europe network, was responsible for the factual supervision. The opposing team, whose aim was to contest the premise, was made up of: Mikołaj Bać, Jerzy Calik, Bartłomiej Janiczak and Mikołaj Kluczewski, while dr hab. Marta Witkowska from the University of Warsaw was their supervisor.
It was a heated debate. The final decision made by three jurors, with the ratio of 2:1, was to award the team led by prof. Janusz Węc.
