International Relations and Diplomacy in the Post-Pandemic World: The International Relations and Public Diplomacy Program Conference and Study Trip

We would like to cordially invite everyone to participate in the upcoming conference organized from 13 to 17 September 2021 at the Jagiellonian University in stationary and as well as in remotely form.

The conference is an integral part of the project by the Centre for International Studies and Development implemented with funds the National Agency for Academic Exchange (Katamaran), which provides for the establishment of the international double-degree MA program International Relations and Public Diplomacy.

 

The aim of the conference is to unite scientists, experts and students representing the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, the University of Siena and other foreign research and development centers to share knowledge and research on broadly understood international relations and public diplomacy in order to present current challenges and developments in discussed area, and having in mind that the International Relations and Public Diplomacy programme is a research based project.

 

The thematic area of the conference includes broadly understood international relations, public diplomacy and the possibilities of their functioning in a pandemic and post-pandemic world. To reflect the complexity of circumstances, the cultural, economic, historical, religious aspects are taken into account. The Conference in July focuses on changes in European scenario in the internal and international scale. Discussed subjects include security, pandemic diplomacy, foreign policy and cultural relations. Selected papers may be published in the post-conference monograph in the publishing house included in the publishing list of the Ministry of Education and Science upon positive blind review.

The conference will be attended by scientists from University of Sienna, Jagiellonian University, doctoral students and students from both universities and also by many researchers from various institutions, among others: Prof. Jörn-Carsten Gottwald (Ruhr University Bochum, Germany), Prof. Yoichiro Sato (Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Japan), Prof. Elena Korosteleva (University of Kent, Great Britain), Prof. Maximilian Mayer (Rheinishe Friedrich-Wilhelms Universitat Bonn, Germany), David O'Brien, Ph.D. (Ruhr University Bochum, Germany), Carmen Amado Mendes, Ph.D. (School of Economics of the University of Coimbra, Portugal), Niall Duggan, Ph.D. (University College Cork, Ireland), Laura Parepa, Ph.D. (Tsuda University, Japan), Una Aleksandra Bērziņa-Čerenkova, Ph.D. (Rīga Stradiņš University, Latvia).
