International Relations and Public Diplomacy Program Conference

On September 14th, the first sessions of the conference - International Relations and Diplomacy in the Post-Pandemic World: The International Relations and Public Diplomacy Program Conference and Study Trip was organized in the Michał Bobrzyński Room of the Collegium Maius at the Jagiellonian University.

In stationary and as well as in remotely form met scientists from University of Sienna - Vice-Rector of the University of Siena, Prof. Luca Verzichelli, dr Francesco Olmastroni, Jagiellonian University - Dean of International Studies and Development, Prof. Paweł Laidler, Director of the Center for International Studies and Development, Prof. Marcin Grabowski, doctoral students and students from both universities and also by many researchers from various institutions, among others: Prof. Jörn-Carsten Gottwald (Ruhr University Bochum, Germany), Prof. Yoichiro Sato (Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Japan), Prof. Elena Korosteleva (University of Kent, Great Britain), Prof. Maximilian Mayer (Rheinishe Friedrich-Wilhelms Universitat Bonn, Germany), David O'Brien, Ph.D. (Ruhr University Bochum, Germany), Carmen Amado Mendes, Ph.D. (School of Economics of the University of Coimbra, Portugal), Niall Duggan, Ph.D. (University College Cork, Ireland), Laura Parepa, Ph.D. (Tsuda University, Japan), Una Aleksandra Bērziņa-Čerenkova, Ph.D. (Rīga Stradiņš University, Latvia).

The aim of the conference was to unite scientists, experts and students representing the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, the University of Siena and other foreign research and development centers to share knowledge and research on broadly understood international relations and public diplomacy in order to present current challenges and developments in discussed area, and having in mind that the International Relations and Public Diplomacy programme is a research based project.

The International Relations and Public Diplomacy (IR-PUB) is a new international and English-language master's degree program, lasting for 4 semesters, implemented by the funds of the Katamaran program of the National Agency for Academic Exchange (from the Knowledge-Education- Development Operational Program: POWER). The programme is implemented in partnership between Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland and University of Siena in Italy.
