Cooperation between the Jagiellonian Research Center for African Studies and the Africanist Museum in Olkusz

On July 18 at the office of the Dean of the Faculty of International and Political Studies of the Jagiellonian University, a meeting was held on the framework of future institutional cooperation between the Jagiellonian Research Center for African Studies and the Africanist Museum in Olkusz. The meeting was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of International and Political Studies, dr hab. Paweł Laidler, prof. UJ, the Director of the Jagiellonian Research Center for African Studies, prof. dr. hab. Robert Kłosowicz, the Director of the Africanist Museum in Olkusz, Mr. Wojciech Ozdoba, the curator of the Museum, Mrs. Grażyna Praszelik-Kocjan, the Secretary of the Center, Dr. Joanna Mormul, and the JRCAS member, Mrs. Izabela Cywa. During the meeting, the framework for future scientific, organizational, and educational cooperation was discussed, as well as the initiative to organize at the Africanist Museum in Olkusz a permanent exhibition on the life and culture of Pygmies from the Central African Republic. The artifacts that will constitute the exhibition will be brought from the Central African Republic thanks to the efforts of Mrs. Izabela Cywa, who has been working in the CAR since 2012, over the years 2012-2017 as a director of the hospital in Bagandou actively promoting healthcare among the Pygmy people.
