The Centre for International Studies and Development announces the first round of recruitment for our Complexity Winter Schools. It has just started and you can apply through the dedicated application forms that can be found below:

Winter School I: Research in the Complex World;
Winter School II: Introduction to Understanding the Complex World.

CISAD's winter schools are theoretical and methodological programmes in the perspective of the issues of complexity theory, which will enable the enrichment of knowledge and skills, crucial for conducting scientific research, which are published internationally.

Our winter schools are to be conducted on 14-17 February 2023 in a hybrid model, which allows participants to participate either on-site in Cracow or online. Participating in this course is equivalent to 5 ECTS.

Winter School I will include five six-hour courses: Introduction to Complexity, Case Study Analysis, States and Markets in the 21st Century: Complexity Approach, Economic Dimensions of Complexity, and Energy Transformation as a Complex Challenge to the Globe. At the same time, Winter School II includes courses such as New Theories of International Relations; Great Power Competition and Transformation of Global Order; Encountering Complexity on Film; Resilience, Governance, and Complex International Relations; and Comparative Perspectives on Development.

The courses are taught by internationally renowned scientists. All participants receive a certificate of attendance that confirms attending the winter school programme. We also offer a scholarship for 54 attendees participating on-site in Krakow.

More information about our winter schools, planned courses, lecturers, recruitment requirements, and scholarships, may be found on our website.

The order of submitting forms does not influence your chances, however, please remember to submit the form no later than 30 November.

We strongly encourage you to apply!
