Our Faculty member elected to the Governing Board of the European Association for International Studies

We are happy to announce that Dr. Magdalena Kozub-Karkut from the Department of Theory and Political Methodology headed by Prof. Piotr Borowiec has been elected to the Governing Board of the European International Studies Association (EISA) for the term 2023-2027.

EISA's Governing Board consists of twelve members. Along with Dr. Kozub-Karkut, six other people were elected: Nora El Quadim (University of Paris 8), Daniela Lai (Royal Holloway, University of London), Beatrix Futak-Campbell (Leiden University), Revecca Pedi (University of Macedonia), Polly Palister-Wilkins (University of Amsterdam), and Joana Ricarte (University of Coimbra). They will join the five other board members whose terms are still running: Beste İşleyen, Debbie Lisle, Sonia Lucarelli, Thierry Balzacq, and Corina Lacatus.

EISA was founded in 2013 by former members of the Steering Committee of the Standing Group on International Relations (SGIR) of the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR). EISA's goal is to promote and advance the interdisciplinary field of international studies in Europe and beyond through the organization of conferences, workshops, and scientific symposia, and to support participation in such endeavors through a mobility fund, among other things. The association is also the co-publisher of "The European Journal of International Relations". The first conference of this association after its separation was held in 2013 in Warsaw. EISA is a member of the World International Studies Committee (WISC).

Dr. Magdalena Kozub-Karkut is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Theory and Political Methodology of the Institute of Political Science and International Relations at Jagiellonian University. Her research interests are focused on International Relations theory and FPA. In recent years, she has frequently participated in conferences and workshops organized by EISA. In 2019, she co-organized an EWIS workshop in Krakow, and in 2023, she will hold a Section at the EISA PEC Conference in Potsdam. She also co-edited the journal "Global Affairs", published until 2022 by EISA.
