Joanne Monica Kanarek, studentka drugiego roku wydziałowych studiów IRAS (International Relations and Area Studies) została finalistką tegorocznej edycji konkursu Inter Student wyłaniającego najlepszego studenta zagranicznego w Polsce. W zeszłym roku Pani Kanarek podzieliła się z nami swoją opinią o studiowaniu na naszym Wydziale:

My participation in the IRAS program came about through my unshakable passion to acquire the knowledge that would allow me to expand my understanding of the present day events, and affairs in the world we live in. I would come across the IRAS website through a 5 am google search for an International Relations program taught in English. The courses listed and specializations available captivated my attention immediately - this is exactly what I was looking for! Despite not being familiar with Krakow at all, I would make the leap of faith and apply the next day. In the following two weeks, I would also book a one way ticket... even before being officially accepted (worst case scenario, I would get a vacation out of this flight haha)! Long story short... it obviously worked out, and coming to IRAS and Krakow was the best choice I could have made! In only one semester, I feel like my understanding and comprehension of current global affairs has grown immensely! My wholly positive experience so far would not be limited to just the IRAS program; the opportunity and vibrancy that I have found in the city of Krakow has played a huge role as well. Krakow is alive with history, culture, and beauty! Overall, my first year at IRAS and in Krakow has been everything that I hoped for, and even more! I cannot wait to see what is yet to come!
